The War in the Name of Haider Has Begun,” Declares Iran's Supreme Leader Khamenei on X

Tehran, Iran –

In a powerful and symbolic message posted on social media platform X (formerly Twitter), Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei declared, “The war in the name of the Great Haider has begun.” The statement has sparked strong reactions amid growing tensions between Iran and Israel.

The name Haider is a well-known title for Hazrat Ali (RA) — the son-in-law and cousin of the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). In Shia Islam, Hazrat Ali is revered as the first Imam and the rightful successor to the Prophet. Khamenei’s invocation of Haider is seen as a call to spiritual and ideological mobilization.

Strong Words Against Israel

In another post written in English, Khamenei said:

“We will give a strong response to the terrorist Zionist regime. We will show no mercy to the Zionists.”

He reiterated that Iran will never compromise with the Zionist regime, adding that the country remains committed to confronting Israel with full strength and no hesitation. These statements were published across multiple language versions of his verified X account.

Response to Trump’s Threats

This marks Khamenei’s first public reaction following controversial remarks by former U.S. President Donald Trump, who had indirectly referenced him on his own social media platform Truth Social. Trump wrote:

“We know exactly where the so-called ‘Supreme Leader’ is hiding. He is an easy target, but he’s safe—for now. We will not take him out, at least not yet.”

Trump further warned:

“We don’t want missiles falling on civilians or American soldiers. But our patience is wearing thin.”

A Heightened State of Alert

The verbal escalation between Iranian leadership and former U.S. officials comes at a time when the Middle East is already on edge, following recent drone attacks, airstrikes, and accusations of espionage. Analysts believe these fiery exchanges may indicate deeper strategic shifts in the ongoing Iran-Israel conflict.
